Let's talk about the facts of Google's pay-per click advertizing. It's nothing new. Overture started their version of pay-per click advertizing well before Google got wind of the idea. As a search engine, Google had been playing catch-up for many years, but now they seem to be the most popular one out there
  (I still prefer Yahoo!).

The creation of Google's Adwords was their approach in competing with Overture (which since has been bought by Yahoo!). It is a bit more easy to use, although it does not give you exact details as far as how well your ads are ranking. Your account will give you a general idea of how your ads stack up against the competition. Overture will tell you exactly what ranking your ads have - nice touch!

Not to be outdone, Google designed Adsense to work hand in hand with Adwords - to give their advertizer's ads more exposure - so they would like you to think. Anyone with a web site can set up an Adsense account and display Google ads as well. Just as clicking on an ad appearing after Google search cost the advertiser money, a clicked-on Adsense ad also costs the advertiser money.

This is just a short list of how Google's technology is being abused:

  • · Would you believe there are people out there paying companies to click on their Adsense ads all day, just to drive up their affiliate share?
  • · There are groups known as Click Exchanges which basically clcik on each others ads all day long.
  • · There are companies actually selling Adsense web sites using their affiliate code and sharing the profits with whoever buys a site from them.
  • · There are web sites designed with just the sole intention of displaying Adsense ads and Nothing Else!

Google can not play catch up in this respect
and it is costing their advertizers lots of money!

My clients were using both Adwords and Overture to promote their sites. Since my Adsense account was disabled, I decided to move every client over to Overture because the clients ROI (Return On Investment) was being compromised. I have taken money out of Google's pockets!

If more people scrap their Adwords accounts and find an alternative, I bet you the techs at Google will begin to pick up the phone and give us the one-on-one support we have been asking for - and will possible re-enable these accounts.

We will be presenting this petition to the proper authorities and media. This will not go unnoticed!
